Payton C. Tompkins
Payton joined ELM after completing her J.D. at Texas Tech University School of Law. Her work focuses on civil litigation and religious non-profit matters.
Before joining ELM, Payton interned at Vision House, a nonprofit organization that helps break the cycle of homelessness for families with children, Seattle Municipal Court, and The Immigration Law Firm PLLC. She also spent five summers working on staff at The Firs in Bellingham, Washington. While at Texas Tech, Payton was involved in Civil Practice Clinic, Advanced Dispute Resolution Clinic, and competed on several national moot court teams.

Payton grew up in Whatcom County and is excited to return to the Evergreen state after several years in West Texas. She married Kellin, her Texan lawyer husband, in 2023. Outside of the office, Payton enjoys spending time with her family, cheering on Husky Football, and two-stepping with her husband. Payton and her husband attend Mosaic Community Church.
